Auto Start Settings
Timing systems use 4 parameters to control auto start: Stage On, Stage to Start, Start Delay, and Time Out.
Stage On is the time that the stage beam must be solid on (not flickering) before the timing system considers a racer staged (0.500 to 0.600s most common)
Stage to Start is the time from when both racers are fully staged until the tree sequence begins (0.900 to 1.100s most common for full tree, 0.700 to 0.800 most common for pro tree).
Start Delay is the variance added to the Stage to Start time to prevent racers from anticipating the start of the tree sequence. Every run, the timing system chooses a random number from 0 to the Start Delay time and adds this to the Stage to Start time (0.130 to 0.200 most common).
Time Out refers to the amount of time after one racer stages that the timing system will wait for his competitor to become fully staged. If the competitor does not stage in this period, he will receive a red light.
